Château Palmer Lunch at Alyn Williams @ The Westbury
Some days in the wine trade really do make it all worthwhile!
On Wednesday 17th April 2013, Top Selection hosted a memorable lunch at Michelin starred restaurant Alyn Williams @ The Westbury Hotel for a select group of trade professionals. The special guests from Château Palmer were owner Ferdinand Mahler-Besse, and CEO oenologist Thomas Duroux.
Along with a menu of marinated quail & smoked egg, lamb, morels & asparagus, and a cheese selection, we had the pleasure to taste Alter Ego 2008 and 2009, and Château Palmer 1995, 1999, 2006, and 2008. A great range of wines that was only enhanced by the imparting of knowledge from both Thomas and Ferdinand.
All the wines showed fantastically, but for me the surprise was the 2006 Palmer – so forward and approachably opulent.
